Then Jesus said, "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  (NLT)
Pr. 3:5,6 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart.  Lean not on your own understanding.  In all

Enough for all

There once was a godly elderly lady who recalled her humble life.  As a young girl she lived with others who wanted to love and live honourably for Jesus.  It was a communal type of living.  They did not have much in the way of material pleasures but they did have a large garden.  Together they planted vegetables.  This would help, with the Lord's blessing, to provide their yearly food needs.  They also wanted to help the poor in the community and in the surrounding area.  So they planted an abundant amount.
When asked if the birds ever ate the seeds, she gently answered, "Yes."
"So did you kill them or chase them away in order to protect your garden?"
She smiled and then replied, "Birds are a creation of God.  They need to eat, too.  We took that into consideration when we planted."
Amazed at her gracious attitude, the interviewer continued.  "You gave to anyone who asked you for food.  Did anyone ever steal the vegetables?"
The godly lady replied," Yes."
"Even when you would freely give the vegetables away, people would choose to steal food instead of ask for it?"
"Yes."
"Now that would make me upset. How did you handle that?  What did you do to the thieves?"
"God says that we are to love our enemies," Came her reply.  "So we planted more than enough.   That way there was always more than enough food to go around.    There was some for us, some for the poor, some for the birds, and some for the thieves.   We are always to be kind."
What a gracious spirit of God's kindness this lady had.  May it be so for us today.  By faith and grace in Christ, may we show the love of God today.

But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him
the other also.  And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak
as well.  If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.  Give to the one who asks
you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. "You have heard that it
was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy'  But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray
for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun
to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
(Math 5:39-45)

"If you follow My decrees and are careful to obey My commands, I will send you the seasonal
rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit.  Your
threshing season will overlap with the grape harvest, and your grape harvest will overlap with
the season of planting grain. You will eat your fill and live securely in your own land.
