Then Jesus said, "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (NLT)
No healing?
The pain continued for months. I prayed for healing. Others prayed for my healing. There were accusations that I was living a sinful life, otherwise why would I be ill. There were accusations that I did not have faith, otherwise why would I be ill. It was a great challenge. Some days I felt guilt. Other days I felt rejected. Other days I felt despair. But always I knew that God loved me and could heal me in a moment. He had healed me other times, why not this time? But this time was different. This time He walked with me and protected me through my trial of faith.
I want to encourage you today that if you are in a right relationship with Jesus and if you daily living for him, then continue doing what is right. Even if others do not encourage you, don't give up. If others condemn you, remember that Jesus does not condemn you. He loves you! Keep on keeping on!
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure
many trials for a little while.
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. (1P: 6&7)
