A little girl's prayer

Once there was a little girl who wanted to learn to play the flute but did not have enough money to purchase one.  She prayed and prayed.
Her grandparents came to visit.  She always enjoyed their visits.  Not only were they awesome grandparents, they were friends and they were fun.  On this visit they wanted to go swimming in the hot springs.  Together, the family drove for an hour or two, chatting and laughing until they arrived at their destination.  It was always fun to be able to enjoy the journey as well as the destination.
The hot springs were refreshing as the cool autumn weather was fast approaching.  After a fun time of soaking and swimming, they went to the change rooms to get out of our bathing suites and into dry clothes.
The mother went into her cubicle and saw an unmarked, open envelope.  Her curiosity got to her.  She picked up the envelope, opened it and out fell several twenty-dollar bills.
"Oh no," she thought.  "Someone has lost their money."  She changed into dry clothes and quickly and went to the custodian.
Handing them the envelop with the money, the mother explained the situation.  The owners shrugged their shoulders and gave it back to the mother.
"No one came to us.  There has been no enquiry.  Here.  It is now yours.  Take it."
Worried for the people who were minus their money, she reluctantly took it back.  The family talked about to do with the money.  Unanimously they decided to go to the police station.  The police took the money and the envelope.  There was a letter inside and the police wanted to see if they could trace the person through the letter.  Everyone was happy.  The owners would be able to get their money back.  The situation would be resolved.
Months passed until the little girl's family received a phone call from the police.  The police said, "We traced the letter but there is no one.  The money is yours.  Take the money.  It now is yours."
Reluctantly the family took it.  What did they do with it?  It was used to answered a little girl's prayer… they bought a flute and that little girl went on to play skillfully for school, for church, and for her own private enjoyment.
Like the little girl, sometimes we need to humble ourselves as a little child and seek the Lord to help us, without questioning how He will help.  Simply trust Jesus.  Pray.  Obey Him.  Do what's right.

So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven." (Mar 9:37)
