Then Jesus said, "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (NLT)
Unknown journey
"I don't know how it's all going to work out, but I know that it's what I need to do. I don't know where I'll stay or who I'll be with. I just know that it what I need to do. It won't be easy to be apart. I love you." My husband said as he gave me a hug.
I was recovering from the Caesarean birth of our third baby, so I was unable to accompany him. We shed tears as we hugged and released each other to the care and keeping of the LORD.
Bible School was over for the summer and my husband felt such a deep desire to tell others about Jesus. We had no money. No connections. No maturity. But we had a desire for people to be saved. We were new believers and wanted people to have hope and new life through Jesus.
We lived on an Island and my husband was going to the mainland to catch a plane to fly to a foreign land. I watched as the ferry departed. Tears filled my eyes. Our two bouncing toddlers and a newborn baby felt that something was different in their little worlds.
I fasted and prayed until the peace of God flooded my soul. It did not happen the first day or the second. But on the third day an amazing peace and knowledge flooded me. From that moment on, I knew exactly where my husband was and what he was doing. I knew when he would return.
The only means of communication was postal mail. It took two weeks to get a letter to its destination and another two weeks to receive mail back. So there was no way to keep updated on any current news. But the LORD let me know what my husband was doing, where he was, and what to pray for.
I recalled Elisha, prophet of old; that the king stated that he knew what he did in secret. Where did this knowledge come from? It came from God. The same God that gave insight to the prophet can give us insight when we need it.
"It's not us, my lord the king," one of the officers replied. "Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!" (2 Kings 6:12)
